Postpartum Support

No one can adequately prepare you for the experience of having a child, despite the best of intentions. This is true, in part, because everyone's experience is unique.

It is common for women and their partners to experience difficulties adjusting to their new role. This is particularly true for women who experience a difficult pregnancy, a traumatic birth, or health concerns for the mother or baby. Hormonal changes, lack of sleep, difficulties breastfeeding, a fussy baby, or differing parenting approaches can also be factors. The stress of it all can have a dramatic impact on the relationship. Treatment can include individual therapy and/or couples therapy to help support your growing family.
